SUCCESS IN STEAMY SINGAPORE, NEXT THE SNOWS OF BANFF

Singapore, November 28th, 2006. - The second edition of the Asia-Australia Media Executive Leadership Program (AAMELP) came to a successful conclusion last evening at The Sentosa Resort with the presentation of certificates to the participants and recognition for the faculty from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore. Response to the program has been intensely positive.

Supported by Australia's ScreenWest and The Media Development Authority of Singapore, AAMELP is one of three programs offered by the International Institute for Television Leadership (IITL). Participants at AAMELP included local, regional and global broadcasters as well as independent producers and government agencies.

Led by Doug Macnamara and Pat Ferns, assisted by a faculty of senior guest executives drawn from the world media industry, IITL's programs are targeted at the next generation of leaders in the rapidly changing digital media landscape.
Over 300 graduates of these programs now occupy senior leadership positions in the international industry.

This past year, Ferns and Macnamara launched the Leadership Master Class for European Media Executives in Halle, Germany. Participants from eight European countries described the experience as "innovative" and "transformative".

From the heat of Singapore, Macnamara heads to Phoenix, Arizona to present a program for oil and gas executives, and Ferns travels to Shanghai and Guangzhou to lead a workshop program during GZDOC, China's leading documentary festival.

Macnamara and Ferns come together again in Banff in the New Year for the North American Media Executive Leadership Program (NAMELP). The program runs January 12-17, 2007 at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, which has been the program's home since 1999.

Among the faculty at NAMELP will be Sydney Suissa, vice-president of National Geographic Channels International and Susan Schaefer, vice-president of Corus Entertainment. Both are graduates of the original Banff program in 1999. Another later graduate Barbara Williams, senior vice-president at Global Television will join them in Banff.
